Fifth-year senior transfer Damion Lee led the University of Louisville basketball team with 19 points as the Cardinals opened an 18-point advantage and then had to hold on to beat Kentucky Wesleyan 77-68 on Monday night.
Wesleyan cut it to six points before Rick Pitino put the starters back in the game.
Lee was just 6 of 17 from the field, while sophomore Chinanu Onuank added 11 points and six rebounds and junior Mangok Mathiang had six points, eight rebounds and six blocked shots.
Quentin Snider, who had six points and four assists, hit a three-pointer in the final 30 seconds to help the Cardinals hold on. It was the 31st straight exhibition win for the Cardinals.
Louisville finished the game shooting 41.4 percent from the field, while holding the Panthers to 36.1 percent.
Louisville opens the regular season on Friday against Samford in the KFC Yum! Center at 7 p.m.
