Frankie Hughes is a Cardinal.
Garfield, Ohio, Heights High School guard Frankie Hughes, who committed to Louisville on Oct., 20 signed his letter of intent on Wednesday morning.
"Hughes is a high level athlete who is also a good shooter," said Scout.com National Recruiting Analyst Brian Snow. "If he improves his ball handling he has a chance to really grow and flourish under Rick Pitino."
Garfield Heights coach Sonny Johnson described the future Cardinal as an under-rated shooter.
"He's a knock-down shooter," Johnson said. "If you asked me, he's a top 100 recruit in the country and I think he'll prove that at Louisville. We've put a lot of kids into colleges and I can tell you he's a very good one."
The 6-foot-5 Hughes picked the Cardinals over Miami, Missouri, Texas A&M, Wichita State, Wisconsin and others.
Hughes attends the same school that produced current U of L fifth-year senior Trey Lewis. Hughes averaged 17 points and five rebounds a game as a junior for Garfield Heights.
