The University of Louisville linebackers that call themselves the Bash Brothers - James Burgess and Keith Kelsey - spoke with the media together on Wednedsay night and the question of total tackles came up.
Is it a competition to be the team leader.
"There's a friendly competition," Burgess said with a smile. "We go back and forth all the time."
Kelsey, a junior, leads the team with 72 tackles heading into Saturday's game against Virginia but Burgess - the senior - knew he was only one tackle behind his close friend.
"He's one up, I'll tell you that," Burgess said with a chuckle.
The game on Saturday will be the final home game for Burgess and 15 other U of L players going through Senior Day. Kelsey talked about his running mate on Wednesday, noting they were "really close."
"We've built a great relationship not only on the field, but off the field," Kelsey said. "We always competed and just helped each other out on the field. It's been a great ride. This is the last home game for him. Time flies."
