Louisville blasts Samford 86-45 in the season-opening game on Friday night

The University of Louisville basketball team started the 2015-16 season with an 86-45 blowout of Samford on Friday night before 20,347 fans at the KFC Yum Center. Here's a few videos from the locker room:

The new season started with a bang for hte University of Louisville basketball team.

The Cardinals opened the new year with an 86-45 victory over Samford, marking the 12th straight season-opening victory. U of L coach Rick Pitino is now 27-3 in openers.

Damion Lee, who scored all of his points in a six-minute stretch in the second half, and freshman Donovan Mitchell led the Cardinals with 14 points apiece. Mitchell had the eighth-most points by any U of L player in their debut.

Quentin Snider chipped in 12 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals, while Chinanu Onuaku had 11 points, five rebounds, five blocked shots and two assists.

U of L hit 30 of 56 from the field and had 19 assists, including assists from nine different players. Samford was just 13 of 62 (21 percent) from the field and were outrebounded 47-36.
