Cardinals improved to 2-0 for the ninth consecutive season

It didn't take long for Louisville to put Hartford away on Tuesday night at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals shot 50 percent from the floor and turned up its defensive intensity during the second half to cruise to an 87-52 victory and improve to 2-0 for the ninth consecutive season.

Plenty notes and photos from the game, highlighted by the career-high 18 point and nine rebound outing by center Chinanu Onuaku. Damion Lee also poured in 18 points, his highest total as a Cardinal. Jaylen Johnson nearly had a double-double with nine points and a career-best eights rebounds, while Quentin Snider added nine points and equaled a career-high with six assists and zero turnovers.

For the second consecutive game, 14 different Louisville players saw action.

Up next for Louisville is a visit by North Florida on Saturday at noon.

  • Louisville improved to 3-0 all-time against Hartford in a series dating back to 2007. Both previous games between the Cardinals and Hawks were also played in Louisville – 2007 at Freedom Hall and 2013 at KFC Yum! Center.
