The University of Louisville football staff has shown interest in Class of 2017 quarterback D.J. Lee of Champaign, Ill., St. Thomas More. Here's a look at the recruitment of Lee, the 6-foot, 175-pound quarterback.

Champaign, Ill., St. Thomas More Prep 2017 quarterback D.J. Lee made the trip to the University of Louisville two weeks ago to watch the Cardinals in a 41-17 victory over Syracuse.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Lee liked it so much he returned the next week. Lee was back at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium last weekend and saw the Cardinals beat Virginia 38-31 and become bowl eligible.

"I just wanted to get a better feel for the team," Lee said. "I really like the atmosphere."

Louisville is one of the schools showing some early interest in Lee, who is also hearing some interest from Michigan State, Illinois and Notre Dame along with several other schools.

Lee said he's heard from the U of L coaches for a few weeks since the Cardinals' saw his highlight videos. He was invited to campus and is likely going to be invited to camps next summer at U of L.

"The coaches and recruiters were very welcoming," Lee said. "Not to mention, the team played great. It was a lot of fun to be there and see the atmosphere and the games."

As a junior, Lee passed for 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns with only two interceptions. He also rushed for over 550 and seven touchdowns and had over 200 yards receiving and two more TDs. On defense, Lee had three interceptions and 20 tackles.
