Louisville hoops extends offer to Huntington Prep wing Micah Thomas, who is originally from Tennessee

With one scholarship remaining in the Class of 2016, Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino and staff have offered one of the top unsigned wings in the country. The Cardinals are now in the mix for Huntington Prep wing Micah Thomas. Here's the latest:

The University of Louisville basketball team is now in the mix for a top wing in the Class of 2016.

With one scholarship remaining in the class, the Cardinals have offered Huntington Prep wing Micah Thomas. He's a 6-foot-7 prospect who is originally from Memphis, Tenn., and is considered a top unsigned prospect in '16.

Maryland also recently offered, while Thomas has offers on the table from Arkansas, Tennessee and LSU.

Thomas is hoping to sign in the '16 class but there's a chance he would have to do another year or prep school because of his academic work. But the Cardinals are recruiting him at this point in the '16 class.

On the spring and summer AAU circuit, Thomas played for Team Thad in the Under Armour events.

“He’s long, he’s a reliable shooter from 3, and he’s an explosive athlete,” Huntington coach Arkell Bruce told TerrapinTimes.com last week. "And he can guard multiple positions and he’s super-athletic on the defensive end. He has to work on his strength and ball-handling, but that will come.”
