Sapulpa, Okla., standout running back Dae Williams has landed an offer from Louisville; the current SMU commitment is likely to visit U of L

Sapulpa High School standout Dae Williams finished the season one of the top backs in the state of Oklahoma and has seen his recruitment increase in recent weeks. Williams, who is committed to SMU, landed an offer from Louisville on Tuesday and could visit the Cardinals.

Sapulpa, Okla., High School running back Dae Williams camped at the University of Louisville last summer and was impressive.

The Cardinals' coaches have kept in contact with Williams, who is currently committed to SMU, and on Tuesday the U of L folks extended him a scholarship offer. Williams confirmed the offer via Twitter.

The 6-foot, 200-pound Williams told Cardinal Authority he may visit U of L in the coming weeks.

Williams, who was recruited primarily as a linebacker by SMU, was one of the top running backs in the state of Oklahoma this season. In nine games, Williams finished with 1,673 yards and 19 touchdowns. He averaged 7.3 yards a carry and 185.9 yards a game.
