Tillman solid and makes All-State

Dothan, Ala., Northview defensive lineman Caleb Tillman confirmed recently that he's "100 percent solid" on his commitment to the University of Louisville football program. He has been committed since late July.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Tillman was also named Class 6-A All-State honorable mention in Alabama. He's expected to be able to come in right away and help the Cardinals' on the defenisve front.

"He's so strong and so versatile," Northview coach LaBrian Stewart said in a recent interview.

Stewart said Tillman is solid on Louisville, noting "we don't even give him any other mail. He'll take one visits and that's all."

Slater signs with the Cardinals

Louisville's latest commitment - Port Charlotte, Fla., defensive end Kordell Slater - has officially signed with the Cardinals.

Slater, who graduated last week from high school, told Cardinal Authority that he signed his paperwork on Saturday and plans on arriving on U of L's campus this coming Sunday.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Slater will enroll at U of L on Monday and be eligible to participate in spring practice.

He's the only high school early enrollee for the Cardinals, who also have junior college signees Ronald Walker and Chris Williams arriving on campus and enrolling next week.

Blue named All-State
