University of Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino has an opening on his staff.

The Cardinals lost safeties coach Greg Brown, who also served as recruiting coordinator, on Monday when he accepted a job as the cornerbacks coach at Missouri for new head coach Barry Odom.

Brown, who came to U of L from a position on the staff at Alabama, had a close relationship with U of L defensive coordiantor Todd Grantham. He spent 12 years in the NFL but has spent the past 10 years at Power Five schools in college.

Brown will join Ryan Walters - the new safeties coach at Mizzou - on Odom's staff. Brown was Walters' coach at Colorado.

It's the first turnover in two years for Petrino at U of L. He had several coaches explore other opportunities after last season but was able to keep the staff together. No word on any potential replacements.
