University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino has said his team needs to go undefeated at home this season. The Cardinals are 12-2 on the year and 1-0 in ACC play, winning all of their games at home so far.
On Thursday night, the Cardinals will play their first ACC foe on the road.
Louisville will play at North Carolina State - a team they split with last season - at PNC Arena in what Pitino called a "big test."
"We have to go undefeated at home and take what we can get," on the road Pitino said.
The coach noted that just about every team in the ACC is thinking they can make the NCAA Tournament in a league that has been really good but "has so many good team this season."
"We were road warriors the past three or four years," Pitino said. "I’m not sure this team will be road warriors."
The Cardinals will start to find out against an N.C. State team that has 10 wins but lost to Virginia Tech in overtime last weekend. Cat Barber leads the Wolfpack at 22.9 points per game and is averaging 25.1 in the 10 wins.
Pitino called him "one of the best guards in the country," noting he has already shot 137 free throws this season.
