Before he hosted a dozen official visitors on campus this weekend, University of Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino checked in with current U of L commitment Seth Dawkins in Columbus, Ohio.
Dawkins, a wide receiver from Franklin Heights High School, said he was excited to host his future coach.
"It was so great," Dawkins said. "We were just talking about football, school work and track. It was great."
But Dawkins said he also learned a little about Petrino's past when the coach started telling him stories of him growing up.
"Yeah, we were talking about him growing up in Montana," Dawkins said. "I really like him a lot."
Dawkins committed to U of L in May and made his official visit in December. He said he would sign with the Cardinals on national signing day - Feb. 3 - and noted that he "can't wait."
Dawkins had 1,750 all-purpose yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior. He is rated as a three-star prospect and is among the Top 20 wide receiver prospects in the Midwest Region.
