Allen Hancock College running back Malik Williams has certainly caught the eye of Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound back was Petrino's first visit when the current open period began nearly two weeks ago. Williams, who began the 2015 season as wide receiver, finished his sophomore season as Hancock's leading rusher with 525 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
"He said he liked my all-purpose ability," Williams said. "How I can go from one side to another and my speed. He also liked that I'm big back as well."
A native of Wilson, N.C., Williams was slated to begin an official visit at U of L on Friday and there were efforts made to have him arrive a day early, but the winter storm forced a delay. Williams arrived in Louisville on Saturday for his official visit, where despite the later arrival will receive usual treatment.
"I'm looking for a place that I can come in and play," he explained, adding that when he makes his visits he'll be looking for "seeing what the facilities are like, what the school is like."
