The University of Louisville football team has been very successful recruiting in the state of Georgia in recent years.

Now, the Cardinals are going to try and land another from the Peach State. On Sunday night, U of L offered and jumped into the mix for Fairbur, Ga., Creekside offensive guard Aaron Dowdell.

The 6-foot-3, 299-pound Dowdell had been committed to Georgia for a long time but re-opened his recruitment last week.

Dowdell tweeted that on Sunday night he received offers from U of L, Missouri and Illinois. He visited Central Florida this weekend and had planned a visit to Mississippi State.

A three-star prospect, Dowdell is the No. 39 ranked offensive guard in the country.

Dowdell, who describes his game as "nasty" and "physical," had committed to Georgia last February.

Six of the 20 commitments in the Class of 2016 for the Cardinals are from Georgia.
