Louisville's football staff will host at least 12 prospects this weekend; just days before national signing day

The University of Louisville football staff is having a huge recruiting weekend, hosting at least 12 prospects on campus. The staff is trying to secure a few more commitments before Wednesday's signing day.

It's the final push for the Louisville football staff.

Just days before national signing day, the Cardinals staff have 20 verbal commitments already secured with a few more left and a handful of prospects still on the board.

Many of those prospects are among about 12 visiting campus this weekend.

The group of 12 official visitors will include seven who have already committed to the Cardinals, including four-star quarterback Jawon Pass from Carver High School in Columbus, Ga. He is a U.S Army All-American and last weekend visited Alabama before saying he was 100 percent "solid" with his commitment to the Cardinals.

Montgomery, Ala., linebacker P.J. Blue is also committed to U of L but last weekend visited Oklahoma. Blue will be in town this weekend, along with Georgia defensive standout commitmetns Mike Boykin and Tabarius Peterson.

Male wide receiver Keion Wakefield, Clinton, Miss., safety Lamarques Thomas and Kell, Ga., lineman James DeMatto are also visiting and players who have already cast their lot with the Cardinals.

Another visitor is four-star Michigan wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick, who at one time was committed to U of L for almost a year, while Florida State commitment Emmett Rice of Miami Norland is also expected on a visit.

Junior college offensive lineman Shave Richards will make a visit, along with Orlando, Fla., Oak Ridge cornerback Chris Tooley and Melbourne, Fla., Palm Bay running back Brian Lankford-Johnson.
