Announcement likely tomorrow
In what would be the most significant recruit for the University of Louisville since a skinny 6'10 center from Savannah, GA signed with the Cards in 1985, Sebastian Telfair could be close to announcing his college intentions very soon.
Could choose Cards Friday
On Thursday afternoon, ITV spoke with an impeccable and trusted source close to the Telfair situation and confirmed the much hyped New York City point guard could announce his college choice at a Friday press conference. Nearly everyone close to the situation believes it's a forgone conclusion Telfair will choose Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals.
According to our source, the chances are highly likely the announcement will be made tomorrow.
Telfair would be Louisville's fourth verbal commitment from the class of 2004, joining 6'6 Lorenzo Wade of Las Vegas, NV, 6'10 Terrance Farley of Louisville and 6'7 Donta Smith of Lagrange, KY. Most recruiting analysts have stated Telfair's addition would move the Cards class into the top five nationally.
In addition, our source also believes there's nothing to the rumors of Lincoln High switching shoe allegiance from adidas to Nike and quashed speculation that Nike covets Telfair to pair with poster boy, Lebron James. According to our source, 6'11 sophomore Greg Oden is Nike's next big endorsement target.
Stay tuned to ITV later this evening for an update on the Telfair situation.....
