Louisville signs Manual High School defensive tackle Derek Dorsey, who had been committed to the Cardinals since March

Manual High School defensive tackle Derek Dorsey is official. Dorsey signed his paperwork and is a member of the University if Louisville football program.

Manual High School defensive tackle Derek Dorsey knew where he wanted to go to college.

Dorsey didn't have to look far, just across Floyd Street at the University of Louisville. So when Dorsey landed an offer last spring he committed to the Cardinals in March and never had second thoughts.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Dorsey finally signed his paperwork on Wednesday.

"I can't wait to get there," Dorsey said. "It's where I have wanted to be and I love everything about Louisville."

Dorsey had several other early offers but opted to stick with the Cardinals. He finished his senior season with 65 tackles, including six sacks, and will get a look next season on the defensive line.

"I love the staff at Louisville and everything about the program," Dorsey said. "They're so good at everything, including the development of players size wise. They'll give you a picture on week one and six weeks later you will look so different.

"I can't wait to get to work there."
