Louisville has signed California wide receiver playmaker Chris Taylor-Yamanoha

Rohnert Park, Calif., Rancho Coate wide receiver Chris Taylor-Yamanoha has signed with the University of Louisville. With family ties to U of L, Yamanoha committed to U of L in May and then re-affirmed his commitment late last month.

The University of Louisville football staff is signing a big-time group of wide receivers, including one of the best pass-catchers on the Eest Coast in Chris Taylor-Yamanoha of Rohnert Park, Calif., Rancho Coate High School.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Taylor-Yamanoha is considered a three-star prospect with an opportunity to also play defensive back in college.

Taylor-Yamanoah committed to Louisville last May after a few visits. His mother is a graduate of U of L and he still has family, including his grandparents, who live in the area.

"That played a factor," he said. "It will be nice to have somebody there for me all the time. I know they're happy."

But it wasn't an easy process.

After his commitment, Taylor-Yamanoah fielded inquiries from other schools. He made an official visit to Washington last month before re-affirming his commitment to the Cardinals.

Taylor-Yamanoha posted big numbers his seniors year - 82 receptions for 1,473 yards and 23 touchdowns on offense and seven interception on defense. He also ran for 103 yards and three TDs.
