Sapulpa, Okla., running back Dae Williams said in Decemeber when he was offered a scholarship by the University of Louisville that offensive coordinator Garrick McGee had his attention.
The Cardinals were looking for another running back. Williams was committed to SMU at the time, but not long after a visit to U of L in January he de-committed from the Mustangs.
Williams later committed to the Cardinals and on Wednesday he signed.
"He has a whole lot of potential," Sapulpa coach Jake Corbin said. "He's a late bloomer. I took over the program a year ago in January and I had heard a lot about him. He impressed me early on with his work ethic.
"He just kept getting better and better. (Louisville) has a good one."
Williams is just a two-star but was ranked No. 23 on The Oklahoman’s Super 30 rankings of the state’s top players.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Williams also considered Tulsa until the end and also had scholarship offers from Army, Illinois, Memphis, Navy, New Mexico and Virginia Tech. As a senior, Williams rushed for 1,673 yards and 19 touchdowns while averaging 6.3 yards per carry. He also caught eight passes for 96 yards.
