Louisville signs Ohio wide receiver Seth Dawkins, who has ties to the program and is an explosive playmaker

Columbus, Ohio, Franklin Heights High School wide receiver Seth Dawkins, whose father played at Louisville in the late 1970s, is a dynamic playmaker and signed with the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Seth Dawkins comes from an athletic family.

The Columbus, Ohio, Franklin Heights High School wide reciever has parents who played sports - including his father - Bernie - who played football at Louisville - and mother - DuBonna - who was a track star at Ohio State.

Dawkins' three sisters all had accomplished track careers and went on to run in college at Youngstown State, Cincinnati and Marshall.

Now, it's Seth Dawkins' turn at the college level. After a sensational career at Franklin Heights, Dawkins is following in his father's footsteps and has signed with Louisville.

"It's the perfect place for me," Dawkins said of Louisville. "They came after me hard early on and I love the offense. I fit into it perfect and just felt like it was the place for me to be."

Dawkins committed to Louisville in May over offers from Boston College, Tennessee and others, as well as recent interest from Kentucky and elsewhere. UK came back at him in November, but he stayed firm on his commitment.

"The (Louisville coaches) were really excited to have me and they were really impressed with my highlight tape," he said. "They can't wait to get me down there and I can't wait to get there."

Dawkins had 1,750 all-purpose yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior.  He is rated as a three-star prospect and is among the Top 20 wide receiver prospects in the Midwest Region.
