Michigan wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick has signed with Louisville; longtime commitment backed off and then committed again to Cards

The University of Louisville has signed another Scout300 player - Waterford, Mich., Mott High School wide receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick. He re-committed to the Cardinals on Monday after a weekend official visit.

Waterford, Mich., Mott High School four-star wide receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick made a decision committed to the University of Louisville more than a year ago, only to de-commit about two months ago.

As it turns out, Fitzpatrick said he made the right call the first time.

On Monday, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound playmaker re-committed to the University of Louisville and now he's signed. The No. 216 player in the Scout300 gives the Cardinals' two members of the listing.

"I had a change of heart, I was just confused," he said. "But last weekend when I was back down to Louisville, I just felt like I was at home. It just felt like the place I needed to be."

Fitzpatrick was named to the Detroit Free Press All-State Dream team after a sensational senior season. After transferring from Farmington, Fitzpatrick caught 60 passes for 1,350 yards and 25 touchdowns. On defense, he had seven interceptions.

After the de-commitment from U of L, Fiztpatrick visited Nebraska and Indiana.
