Louisville honored the 1986 NCAA championship team on Saturday afternoon at halftime of a victory over Duke

The University of Louisville honored one of its greatest teams on Saturday at the KFC Yum Center, the 1986 NCAA national championship team. The Cardinals beat Duke 72-69 in the NCAA final in Dallas.

It was only fitting the University of Louisville honored its 1986 national title team on this day.

The Cardinals beat Duke 71-64 during the game the '86 team was honored at halftime. It was 30 years ago that the Cardinals tagged Duke with a 72-69 loss in the championship game in Dallas.

Hall of Fame coach Denny Crum and guard Milt Wagner spoke to the crowd at the Yum Center.

"It doesn't seem like it's been 30 years," Wagner said.

Added Crum: "I had a coach tell me the best team didn't win; I told him the best team on that night won."
