One of the top guard prospects in the Class of 2018, 6-foot-4 Romeo Langford has seen his stock continue to climb in recent months. Following a weekend that included an unofficial visit with Louisville, Langford learned just how much of a priority he is for Rick Pitino and his staff by receiving a scholarship offer from the Cardinals program.
Rated among the nation's top 25 overall prospects in his class and the nation's No. 5 shooting guard by Scout.com, Langford has had the spotlight on him for awhile now. Scholarship offers are already in hand from home state programs Indiana, Purdue and IUPUI, along with UCLA head coach Steve Alford, a former IU great, also doing the same.
U of L, which is located just 20 minutes from Langford's high school, amped up its interest over the weekend. On Friday night, the Cardinals Hall of Fame head coach, accompanied by assistant Kenny Johnson, made the short trek to watch Langford play. Langford would record a double-double, recording 32 points and 10 rebounds, while also blocking six shots to lead New Albany to a league championship by routing Bedford North Lawrence.
On Saturday, Langford was at the KFC Yum! Center for an unofficial visit Louisville and witnessed the Cardinals impressive comeback victory over Duke.
