Louisville was the first to extend a scholarshop offer to Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Christian Pluchino and on Saturday the Cardinals coaching staff welcomed him to campus for Junior Day.
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound three-star linebacker, a three-year starter, spent time visiting with the coaching staff, touring the program's facilities and campus, during his visit.
"I had a great visit today and really liked Louisville," he told Cardinal Authority on Saturday evening. I got a great feel for the atmosphere around Louisville."
U of L remains Pluchino's sole offer, but interest continues to rise, with Cincinnati, Connecticut, Pittsburgh,Purdue and West Virginia among those expressing interest.
"I'm very excited about Louisville's interest," he added, saying the staff likes "my versatility."
While he's visited with most of the U of L assistants, he reports that, "I've spoken more with Coach Tony Grantham, Coach Todd Grantham, and Coach Petrino the most."
