University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz has landed another major commitment. The Cardinals picked up a verbal pledge from Nyah Green, the No. 1 player in the Class of 2019.

University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz is on quite a recruiting run.

After landing the No. 1 and 5 classes in the country in consecutive years, Walz added a major piece to the future of the program on Tuesday night with a commitment from the No. 1 player in the Class of 2019.

Allen, Tx., point guard Nyah Green has committed to the Cardinals. The 6-foot-1 Green also considered Baylor, Tennessee, South Carolina and LSU among other schools.

"Just go to google and see some of her highlights on YouTube," All-Star Girls Report analyst Bret McCormick said. "She's one of the very best out there. We've had her No. 1 for a few years. She's just really, really talented."

McCormick said Green is "a really good start" to the '19 class for the Cardinals.

"They do such a very good job of identifying talent at an early age," McCormick said of U of L. "They're getting a lot of good players and the better players are going to keep going there with what they're building."
