Louisville coach Rick Pitino was on the road in Florida recruiting, two days after his season ended with the Cardinals

University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino was on the road recruiting on Monday, checking out a pair of prospects at Oldsmar, Fla., Christian. The season ended Saturday night for Louisville with a loss at Virginia.

Two days after the season and still with speculation about his future, University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino was on the road recruiting for the future of his program.

Pitino was at Oldsmar, Fla., Christian watching 2017 prospect L.J. Figueroa and '18 target Elijah Weaver. Olsdmar coach Jordan Fair confirmed Pitino was in attendance to Scout.com national analyst Evan Daniels.

The 6-foot-5 Figueroa holds an offer from Louisville and is ranked as the No. 52 prospect in the country by Scout.com. Figueroa is the No. 1 shooting guard in Florida and the No. 10 ranked player at that position in the '17 class.

The 6-5 Weaver is a point guard who also holds an offer from U of L. Weaver already has five offers and is considered one of the elite point guard prospects and players in the '18 class.

Pitino has been to Oldsmar several times in the last year to watch Figueroa.

Louisville finished the season 23-8 with a loss at Virginia on Saturday. The Cardinals are not playing in the postseason because of a self-imposed ban and Pitino said after the game on Saturday that he was going to "take a little time" to relax and ponder his future.

"I intend on coming back every year," Pitino said after the loss.
