Ohio four-star '17 guard Markell Johnson has narrowed his list to five schools; Louisville among the final five for the point guard

Cleveland, Ohio, guard Markell Johnson narrowed his list of schools to five on Monday night, including the University of Louisville. Johnson is a member of the Class of 2017 but the Cardinals have been talking to him about reclassifying into the '16 class.

The University of Louisville men's basketball team made it onto the short list for a top guard from Cleveland, Ohio.

East Tech guard Markell Johnson, who is currently a member of the Class of 2017 but could reclassify into '16, announced his top five schools list on his Twitter account on Monday evening.

The 6-foot-1 four-star guard listed Louisville, Ohio State, Cleveland State, North Carolina State and Virginia Tech.

Johnson did not list any date for an announcement. Louisville has been recruiting him for several months and the U of L staff had primarily wanted him if they could land him in the Class of 2016.

In the '17 rankings, Johnson is listed as the No. 86 player in the Scout rankings.
