New Louisville offensive coordinator Lonnie Galloway said he's just in town but is ready to get to work during spring ball on Tuesday

University of Louisville new wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator Lonnie Galloway met with the media on Monday. The Cardinals will begin spring ball on Tuesday afternoon.

Lonnie Galloway just got to town on Friday.

The former West Virginia associate head coach was hired last week by Bobby Petrino as the new wide receiver coach and the co-offensive coordinator for the Cardinals and said he's "just so excited" to get to work.

But it's not his first trip to Louisville.

Galloway said he was on the staff at West Virginia for a game at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and was also on the staff at East Carolina for a 59-7 drubbing to the Cardinals during the 2004 season.

"I think some of our guys walked on the Cardinal," Galloway said with a smile.

But this time he's back on the home team. Galloway will start his tenure on Monday evening with a team meeting and will meet his wide receivers and will jump right into it on Tuesday afternoon with the first spring practice.

"(The WRs) are a young group and are a very talented group," he said. "I can't wait to get out there and work with them."
