Two McDonald's All-Americans
Two future University of Louisville women's basketball players will be on center stage this week in the McDonald's All-American girls' game to be played on Wednesday night at the United Center in Chicago.
Colorado Springs, Colo., Mesa Ridge High School forward Kylee Shook and Duncanville, Tx., post player Ciera Johnson have signed with the Cardinals and are both competing in the McDonald's game.
The game is slated for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and will be on ESPNU.
The 6-foot-4 Johnson is playing on the East team, while the 6-5 Shook is on the West.
Johnson also in Jordan Brand Classic
Johnson, who is ranked highest among the five signees for U of L in next year's freshman class, will also participate in the Jordan Brand Classic on the east team of rising stars.
The Jordan game is slated for April 15 at the Barclays Center in New York.
Johnson helped Duncanville High School to a perfect record and Class 6-A title in her home state as a senior. Duncanville is also ranked No. 2 in the nation by USA Today.
She averaged a double-double for Duncanville.
Shook named All-State
The honors keep rolling in for Shook, who was also named a WBCA All-American. She has now been tabbed the 4-A Player of the Year in the state of Colorado.
Shook averaged 27.3 points, 13.8 rebounds and 4.8 blocks a game as a senior. She finished her prep career as Colorado’s all-time leader in rebounds (1,299) and blocked shots (620).
