New to practice this year will be the introduction of the new NCAA mandated 5-day acclimatization period in which teams are allowed one practice per day. The first two days players will wear helmets only, then added their shoulder pads for the next two days. Players will begin wearing full gear on the fifth day. The purpose of this new acclimatization period is to allow players to become accustomed to the summer heat.

Also, for the first time, all players will begin practice together. In previous years, the incoming freshmen would always get a couple days of work with the coaches in prior to the returning players reporting.

"I think it hurts the freshmen," Coach Bobby Petrino told ITV on Wednesday. "When you don't allow the freshmen to come in early that you take a little bit away from them. We have to do a good job to take care of them, because you had those three days with them before and now that you don't you still have to make sure that they still get that love that they are used to getting."

ITV will be on hand and bring you the latest in news, notes, photos and interviews.
