Louisville extends an offer to 2018 local prospect Tahj Rice, a defensive end from Waggener High School

The University of Louisville football staff has extended an offer to one of the top 2018 prospects in the area - Waggener High School defensive end Tahj Rice. It's the first offer for the 6-foot-4, 275-pound Rice.

Waggener High School junior-to-be Tahj Rice has his first scholarship offer.

The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Rice, a top prospect in the Class of 2018, landed an offer from the University of Louisville on Monday afternoon. Rice spoke with U of L recruiting director Dave Boller and was informed of the offer.

Rice has been on several visits to U of L, including a basketball game late in the season.

Besides chatting with Boller, Rice has also been in contact with defensive line coach L.D. Scott. Rice is also being recruited by Kentucky, Ohio State, UCLA, Notre Dame and Alabama among others. He was invited to Alabama's Spring Game on Saturday.

Rice played his freshman season at Manual and last season had 57 tackles, seven sacks and two fumble recoveries for touchdowns.
