Louisville basketball staff has targeted several prospects in the Class of 2018 in the new Scout.com top 40

The University of Louisville basketball staff has targeted several prospects in the Class of 2018 that are in the Scout.com new top 40. The new top 40 was released on Monday afternoon.

The University of Louisville basketball staff still needs to add one player to the roster for next season, but the coaches are already deep in the mix with several top prospects for the future.

Scout.com updated its top 40 listing for the '18 class and several players on the list are major U of L targets.

The Cardinals' staff has a top target in the class - New Albany shooting guard Romeo Langford, who made one of the biggest jumps of any players in the class. The 6-foot-4 Langford is now the No. 4 player in the country after a sensational sophomore season.

Langford led New Albany to a state title in Indiana.

The Cardinals are also in the mix with Nashville point guard Darius Garland, who is ranked at No. 7 and is the No. 2 point guard in the class.

No. 13 Nazreon Reid from Roselle, N.J., and No. 26 Brandon Slater from Paul VI Fairfax, Va., are two other prospects the U of L staff have targeted in the '18 class.
