Louisville will host its annual Spring Game on Saturday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium; Cards will begin play at 1 o'clock

The University of Louisville football team will host its annual spring game on Saturday at 1 o'clock in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The Cardinals will play 1s vs. 2s in the game, according to head coach Bobby Petrino.

With a lot of expectations in the offseason, the University of Louisville football team will give the fans an early glimpse of what to expect next season on Saturday when the Cardinals' host the annual Spring Game.

The Wendy's Wonderful Kids Spring Game will be held at 1 o'clock with an expected 20,000-plus fans in attendance.

U of L coach Bobby Petrino said the team is "further along" than they were at this point last season and he noted the Cardinals are ready to show off how they have improved in the 14 practices.

"I think the guys are excited," he said. "We've worked hard and we've really come a long way."

Petrino said he will split the teams up "just like last year," when he has the first-team on one side of the field and the second-team on the other side and the teams battle as a red and white unit.

Petrino said he would call the game "just like a normal game," and would try to get all of his stars as many touches as possible.
