In a battle of top 10 teams in the RPI, Louisville smacked Clemson 15-2 on Friday night in the opener of the series

The University of Louisville baseball team started a weekend series with Clemson on the right note, clobbering the Tigers 15-2 on Friday night before 2,738 fans at Jim Patterson Stadium. The Cardinals are now 27-7 on the season.

The University of Louisville baseball team got off to a rousing start in a series against Clemson.

In a matchup of top 10 teams in the RPI, the Cardinals pounded out 20 hits and clobbered the Tigers 15-2 before 2,738 fans at Jim Patterson Stadium on Friday night.

Corey Ray, Brendan McKay, Devin Hairston and Blake Tiberi all had three hits apiece, while Ray scored three times. Tiberi hit a three-run home run and finished with four RBIs.

McKay was also stellar on the mound. He allowed just two hits and two runs, while striking out eight in seven innings. Chandler Dale pitched the final two innings and allowed two walks.

The Cardinals scored three in the first, two in the third, three in the sixth and six in the seventh before adding a run in the eighth.
