Louisville tagged Clemson on Saturday in baseball 7-2; Cards win weekend series with one game left

The University of Louisville baseball team clinched a weekend series against Clemson, beating the Tigers 7-2 on Saturday afternoon before 4,950 fans at Jim Patterson Stadium. The Cardinals are now 28-7 and 12-5 in ACC games.

Drew Harrington didn't have his best stuff on Saturday afternoon.

But the University of Louisville junior gave up 11 hits but managed to get 11 ground ball - including four double plays - as the Cardinals dealt the Tigers a 7-2 loss before 4,950 yards at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Harrington (8-1) won his seventh consecutive game as the Cardinals moved to 28-7 and 12-5 in ACC play.

Corey Ray, Danny Rosenbaum and Drew Ellis all had two hits, while Rosenbaum and Ellis scored two runs.

Louisville scored two runs in the third, fifth and seventh inning, while Will Smith had a solo home run in the eighth.

Jake Sparger came in and pitched an inning and two third, while Zack Burdi struck out one in the final inning.

The two teams will play Sunday at 1 o'clock.
