A trip to Louisville for the Cardinals spring game was a return trip for Brandenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Christian Pluchino and three-star prospect left impressed once again.
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound linebacker, who collected his first scholarship offer from the Cardinals program, attended a Junior Day in February for the opportunity to visit with coaches and see what the Louisville experience could be like. On Saturday, he spent time touring the facilities and watching the spring game from the sidelines at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
"I liked it a lot," he told Cardinal Authority. "Watching the spring game as fun. I got a better feel for Louisville."
Pluchino, a three-year starter at IMG, also further formed his relationship with the Cardinals coaching staff, again meeting with inside linebackers coach Tony Grantham and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
"Yes I did, we're glad I got a chance to make it to the spring game," he said.
Since his initial offer from U of L, Pluchino has added two more, with interest from others, such as Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Purdue continuing to climb. While he doesn't claim an early list of favorites, one program does have the advantage.
"I have two others from Buffalo and an Ivy League offer from Columbia," he said. "I don't really have a list but I'm most interested in Louisville."
"I like the city, the campus, and the chance to play ACC football."
