Florida WR picks Cards
Antoine Sharp, a talented wide receiver with good size and speed, has transferred from the University of Florida to UofL and is currently practicing with the Cardinals. Sharp, who's brother Brandon signed with Louisville last February, was considered one of the most talented receivers in the southeast two years ago coming out of Bolles High School in Jacksonville, FL.
Sharp red-shirted at Florida in 2001 and played in three games last season. Sharp had 34 total play last season and caught 3 passes for nine yards.
Sharp earned prep All American honors in 2000 as a high school senior and was ranked one of the nation's top ten flankers by National Blue Chips. He was ranked one of the top 10 wide receiver prospects in the southeast by PrepStar and was generally considered one of the top 40 players in the Sunshine State in 2000. Sharp rushed for 510 yards and seven touchdowns and averaged 12 yards per carry as a senior. He also had 300 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Sharp visited Notre Dame and LSU before choosing the Gators.
The 6'1, 205 receiver, who runs a 4.5 forty, must sit out this season and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in 2004.
