Daphne, Ala., star L.T. Ikner the latest standout from Alabama to check out the University of Louisville. Ikner was at U of L's spring game recently and recaps the visit for Cardinal Authority.

University of Louisville defensive line coach L.D. Scott is on a recruiting tear in the state of Alabama.

A native of Auburn, Ala., Scott has a great reputation in the state and has been able to land some key commitments in his first two years as an assistant at U of L from the state.

Scott is after many of the elite players in the state in the Class of 2017.

One prospect - Daphne, Ala., defensive end L.T. Ikner - made the trip to Louisville for the recent spring game and told Cardinal Authority that the Cardinals are "high on his list."

"I really enjoyed it and I loved the people at Louisville," Ikner said. "I like coach Scott a lot. He said he'd be down to see me."

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Ikner said he's been to several places, including Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama, UAB, Samford and Arkansas State. He said he's also been invited to camp at U of L and Mississippi.

Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on the recruitment of Ikner.
