Oak Hill Academy guard Matt Coleman has been a longtime target of Louisville assistant coach Kenny Johnson.
He started recruiting the 6-foot-2 Coleman when he was an assistant at Indiana and Coleman said it wasn't long after Johnson moved over to U of L that he received a call.
"We have a great relationship," Coleman said. "I first met him a few years ago and we talk. He kind of puts the pressure on me every now and then about 'When are you going to come down and visit campus?'
"He's a great guy."
Coleman, who said he would likely make a commitment before his senior season starts at Oak Hill, has talked recently with Johnson and U of L head coach Rick Piitno via text message.
He mentioned Terry Rozier, Peyton Siva and Russ Smith as guys the coaches have talked with him about.
"Coach Pitino is great and he lets his guards go," Coleman said. "It's within the system, but they have the freedom. They're guards go."
Coleman, who is averaging 15 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists for Boo Williams through two weekends of EYBL play, said he's also in cobtact with Duke, Indiana, Texas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina State, Ohio State and Seton Hall.
"I'll probably make a list (of places to visit) after Peach Jam," he said, referring to early July. "I want to take five visits.
"I watched a lot of basketball being at Oak Hill. So, I want to take my time and make the right decision."
Coleman said at this point he would expect Louisville, with the length of the recruitment by the Cardinals, would get one of his five visits. He is likely to make those visits in late August and early September.
"Louisville is in the ACC," he said. "They have a great program. I know they had some thing going on with recruiting this year. But by the time, I get there they said it would be a clean slate.
"If I can get some guys to go with me, we could put on a show in the ACC."
