Louisville's women's basketball team has landed a commitment from fifth-year transfer Taylor Johnson from Loyola of Chicago

University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz ended the weekend with the programs second commitment in less than 24 hours. But this one will help out this season, fifth-year transfer Taylor Johnson from Loyola University Chicago.

University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz had quite a weekend.

Walz picked up a commitment from 2017 top 20 post Loretta Kakala on Saturday night and less than 24 hours later landed a verbal from fifth-year graduate transfer Taylor Johnson from Loyola University Chicago.

The 5-foot-7 Johnson visited on Sunday and announced her commitment on Sunday night. She will enroll at U of L this summer and will be eligible to play this coming season for the Cardinals.

Johnson will add much-needed depth to the U of L point guard position. She averaged 15.1 points a game last season at Loyola, second on the team by two points. She led the team in assists with 102 and steals 79 and had 4.9 rebounds a game in 30 games.

She is originally from Frankfort, Ill., and was twice named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week.
