Louisville has shown some interest in another New York point guard; Isaiah Washington is from the Bronx and says he has heard from the Cards

The University of Louisville has had success with guards from New York City. The Cardinals have shown interest in yet another from the Big Apple - Isaiah Washington. He talks about Louisville and his recruitment.

Rick Pitino has had a lot of success with players from New York City.

And now, Pitino and his staff at the University of Louisville have shown interest in another point guard from the Big Apple with ties to former U of L signee Sebastian Telfair.

Isaiah Washington, who plays at St. Raymonds High School in the Bronx, said Louisville is one of the schools he's heard from in his recruiting process. The Cardinals have not offered the 6-foot point guard a scholarship.

"I am really good friends with Sebastian," Washington said. "He's told me all about them and I have tried to get my game a little bit like his. We're good friends and he told me (Louisville) is a good place."

Washington already has seven offers, including Minnesota, Providence, St. John's, Cincinnati, New Mexico, Rutgers and South Florida. He said Georgetown has also been showing a lot of interest.

"It's getting good," Washington said. "A lot of schools are calling, so it's good."

Washington is averaging 14.4 points, 5.8 assists and 4.4 rebounds a game in two events on the Under Armour circuit with New Heights.
