Ballard High School offensive lineman D.J. Washington is starting to get some college attention.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound Washington reports his recruitment is "picking up" with his eighth scholarship offer on Wednesday evening coming from Georgia State.

Washington said the recruitment is "going good," noting he recently took a trip to the University of Louisville.

"I loved the way the practice was run," he said. "It was fast tempo and they got a lot done. Coach (Chris Klenakis) is a really good offensive line coach, so it was a good visit."

Washington also took a visit to Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky and Ball State.

He holds offers from EKU, Eastern Illinois, Southeast Missouri State, Illinois State, Cincinnati, Ball State, Bowling Green and Georgia State. He said he's been talking to a number of other schools.

Washington said most coaches, including the U of L staff, want him to make a camp on their campus.
