Cardinals begin three-game series on Friday evening

Louisville visits North Carolina for a three-game series this weekend

With just three weekend series remaining in the 2016 regular season, No. 5 Louisville's three-game series at No. 17 North Carolina is a key meeting for the outcome of the ACC.  The Cardinals trails first-place Florida State by mere percentage points in the Atlantic Division race, while the Tarheels are competing for second place in the Coastal Division.

Winners of six straight, the Cardinals are facing UNC for just the fifth time in program history and only the second as a member of the ACC.  Louisville defeated North Carolina 7-4 during ACC Tournament Pool Play last summer, marking the first-ever victory for U of L over the Tarheels.  North Carolina's last victory in the series came in the the 2007 College World Series, with the Tarheels defeating the Cardinals 3-1 in an elimination game.

Louisville, which is hitting .325 as a team, is highlighted by eight different players that have played at least 19 games are hitting .318 or better. 

Brendan McKay will take the mound for the Cardinals on Friday evening, with first pitch set for 6:00p.m. Drew Harrington will start on Saturday and Kyle Funkhouser scheduled for Sunday, with both games slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.  All games will are available on ESPN3.
