Telfair making sure of decision before announcing
Certainly the most highly sought and hyped recruits to come out of the New York area since Kenny Anderson and Stephon Marbury in the early 1990's, Telfair promises to have an immediate impact on whichever school he decides to cast his lot with.
On Monday afternoon, InsideTheVille.com spoke with Lincoln High School Coach Dwayne Morton about his star players recruitment and Morton indicated that Telfair had indeed been in recent contact with Coach Pitino and staff.
"Sebastian definitely been in contact recently [with Louisville]," Morton told ITV.
Morton indicated that he didn't expect an announcement from Telfair regarding his college choice until he returned from his official visit(s) this fall.
When asked if Louisville would definitely receive an official visit from Telfair to the UofL campus this fall, Morton responded, "Definitely...yes they will."
Logically, the next question put to Morton was...Does Telfair intent to officially visit any other schools this fall?
Morton declined to answer that question, stating, "I'm only speaking about Louisville right now."
"Sebastian is a good kid...a smart kid...and he wants to be 100% sure before making his commitment," Morton said.
Morton indicated that Georgia Tech, Syracuse, St. John's and Kentucky have been the other schools who have consistently been in contact with him regarding Sebastian's recruitment. Each of the above listed teams, including Louisville, stopped by to visit Telfair's high school in July.
The Louisville coaching staff also has significant interest in Telfair's teammate at Lincoln High School, 6'7 junior forward Antonio Pena.
At ABCD, Pitino and Willard focused in on Pena during Friday's action and have shown continued interest in the versatile and skilled forward.
"They [Louisville's] definitely ask about Antonio when they call about Sebastian," Morton said.
