All but one of the Louisville football signees from the high school ranks are expected to town in the next week; players confirm with CA

The University of Louisville football team will be getting some new faces on campus this weekend. All but one of the high school signees in the Class of 2016 have confirmed with Cardinal Authority they will enroll in the first summer semester at U of L.

It's move-in weekend for the University of Louisville football recruiting Class of 2016.

And the news of early arrivals is big for the Cardinals' football staff.

Cardinal Authority has confirmed - with each prospect - that 16 of the 17 players from the high school ranks that signed in February will be on campus and enrolled for the first summer semester at U of L, which starts on Tuesday.

Carrollton, Ga., defensive end Michael Boykin said he is expecting to make it later in the summer.

But all of the rest of the players, including quarterback Jawon Pass will be on campus soon.

Hoschton, Ga., offensive lineman Robbie Bell and Suwanee, Ga., running back Malik Staples will be the first two newcomers to arrive on campus when they get to town on Saturday.

"I can't wait to get there," Staples said.

A bunch of newcomers will arrive on Sunday and several more on Monday.

Rohnert Park, Calif., wide receiver Chris Taylor-Yamanoha confirmed with Cardinal Authority that he graduates next Friday and will be traveling to Louisville next Saturday for his first day of classes the following Monday.

U of L had three newcomers - Kordell Slater, Chris Williams and Ronald Walker - enrolled in the spring semester. All three participated in spring ball with the Cardinals.

Junior college safety London Iakopo and running back Malik Williams both said they are expecting to arrive on July 6 for the second summer semester, while Gary McCrae is expected just before camps opens in August.
