The University of Louisville football program is on a run in recruiting.
The Cardinals now have seven commitments in the Class of 2017 after picking up a second in a matter of hours on Thursday night when Nashville Ensworth safety Rodney Owens made his pledge to the Cardinals' public.
The 6-foot, 185-pound Owens tweeted his commitment to the Cardinals.
Owens also had offers from Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, Memphis, Illinois, Western Kentucky, Miami of Ohio and others. He made an unofficial visit to Louisville back in February and landed an offer from the Cardinals on March 1.
He joins junior college offensive lineman Joey Palmer as the second commitment of the day. Both players were being recruited by U of L offensive line coach Chris Klenakis.
Owens had three interceptions as a junior and played slot along with returning kicks. He also had 52 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss and four pass breakups on the season.
