Tallahassee, Fla., Godby defensive end Antwan Owens made an unofficial visit to the University of Louisville on Saturday. Owens recaps the visit with the Cardinals and updates his recruiting.

With already 26 scholarship offers in hand, Tallahassee, Fla., Godby defensive end Antwan Owens is hoping for yet another following a Saturday visit to the University of Louisville campus.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Owens said U of L running backs coach Kolby Smith wanted him to meet defensive line coach L.D. Scott and then "hopefully" sometime soon he might have an offer from the Cardinals.

"I had a chance to get up there and meet the d-line coach and he knows me by name," Owens said. "He told me he wanted to sit down and watch more of my film and coach Smith said then they would talk to me about it.

"He said all of the coaches really love me."

Owens previously has offers from Mississippi State, Central Florida, Maryland, Cincinnati, Indiana, Purdue, East Carolina, Kentucky, Syracuse, South Florida, Wake Forest and others.

"I'm really blessed," Owens said.

Owens, who says he has no timetable for a decision, had narrowed his list to 10 schools - UCF, Mississippi State, Kentucky, USF, Maryland, Indiana, Tulane, East Carolina, Purdue and Iowa State, but he said the visit to U of L went "great." The Cardinals could pop onto the list for Owens if they do extend him an offer.

"The visit went great," he said. "I really like the campus and the dorms and facilities. Plus, the coaches are great. So it went well."
