Tennessee LBer makes visit
Wilson Central (Tenn.) outside linebacker T.J. Minnifee made a visit to the University of Louisville last week and said he's hopeful the Cardinals' staff extends him an offer sometime soon.
"Coach (Todd) Grantham and coach (Chris) Klenakis both like what I can do," Minnifee said. "But they want to see me in one-on-ones on July 15 (at U of L's camp) and then maybe they'll offer.
"I do think they will, but I don't know for sure."
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Minnifee has offers from South Carolina, Jackson State and Austin Peay and is also hearing from Vanderbilt.
Trinity twins camp at Louisville
Trinity High School senior twins Jovan and Jovel Smith both made a camp at Louisville recently and are two of the local prospects that the Cardinals' staff have on their recruiting board.
Jovan Smith plays running back and is expected to be Trinity's feature back this coming season, while Jovel Smith has played wide receiver and defensive back and could see some time in the backfield.
"I'm hearing from a lot of schools, but right now I am just taking everything in," said Jovan Smith, noting most schools are recruiting the twins together. "I think I did pretty good at U of L's camp."
Smith, who rushed 51 times for 392 yards and six touchdowns as a junior, said Louisville, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky and Wofford are the five schools after the Shamrocks' duo.
Herron lands another offer
Trinity High School sophomore defensive end Stephen Herron has landed another offer.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Herron earned his first offer recently after camping at Louisville and on Monday landed one from Indiana.
Herron, who started to make a name for himself in February at the Best of the Midwest, had 75 tackles, including five sacks as a freshman.
