With more than a dozen scholarship offers from Power 5 programs, Miami (Fla.) Carol City safety Naytron Culpepper trimmed his list of favorites on Saturday afternoon.
Culpepper, rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com, announced his favorites via Twitter. He listed Arkansas, Louisville, Michigan State, Oregon State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Utah as the programs that he is "interested" in.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound safety holds offers from each of his favorites, as well as Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, Syracuse, West Virginia and a host of others.
He's rated among the top 100 safety prospects nationally, checking in at No. 25 in the South and No. 7 in Florida.
Culpepper's Scout.com analysis highlights his ability to break on the football to make big plays.
"Culpepper is an all-around defensive back with intriguing size and length in the secondary. He's a sure tackler that does a good job of wrapping up and swarming to the football, but his awareness and ability to break on the football in pass coverage is just as impressive. This is a versatile defender that can chip in at either cornerback or safety, but currently projects best at safety."
