Day one is in the books and you can check out the video recap in this file.
I spent the night in Charlotte at the Under Armour event, which is where Louisville assistant coach Mike Balado was evaluating players. Here's a look at how some of those players performed:
Anfernee Simons: Had five points (2 of 4 shooting), three rebounds and one steal in less than 20 minutes. He's playing on the same team as Trevon Duval, so not a ton of run for Simons.
Paul Scruggs: His team lost by 10 as Scruggs finished with 14 points - 5 of 10 from the field - three rebounds and two assists. He on;y had one turnover as he was running the point for much of the game.
Savion Flagg: The Texas forward didn't miss a shot. He was 3-for-3 from the field and 2-for-2 from the line, including one nasty dunk. He had eight points, four rebounds and one steal.
Elijah Weaver: Really solid game in 20 minutes: 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals on a team with 4 double-figure scorers. He didn't hit a three but made two mid-range jumpers with a man on him.
Nassir Little: Playing with an injured knee and bruised elbow, Little was 1-for-2 for two points. He didn't log many minutes.
Nazereon Reid: Had 7 points and four rebounds in the game; team won in a blowout.
Eric Ayala: A new name; was on the Puerto Rican 16s team last year when Rick Pitino was the PR National Team coach. He's a 2018 guard - recently reclassified from '17 - who plays at Putnam Science Academy in Hockessin, Del. He was 6 of 9 from the field for 16 points tonight. Kid is a scoring machine - from anywhere on the floor. Averages 11.8 points for We-R-1 team on Under Armour circuit.
